After Korean Air's recent macadami nuts incident, an Air Asia flight from Bangkok to Nanjing did a turnaround midway on December 12 when a female Chinese passenger threw hot water on a flight attendant's face.

The female passenger felt dissatisfied with the service and suddenly assaulted the flight attendant with hot water, according to the airline. The pilot decided to return to Don Mueang Airport, citing the woman's actions as a possible threat to the other passengers' and flight attendants' safety.

The airline, however, did not elaborate on the cause of the conflict aside from the woman's complaint about the service.

The hot water assault was the trending topic on Friday night on China's famous social media site Weibo. A lot of passengers shared photos of the incident online.

One of the passengers happened to be Chinese TV host Zhang Xiao in Thailand, who posted on his Weibo account his take on the incident. Zhang said that he heard a man expressing his desire to bomb the plane, while another girl said she wanted to kill herself. The hot water assault came after these incidents.

One Weibo user uploaded a video showing a man cussing at other flight attendants and other passengers telling him in Mandarin how rude his behavior is.

As soon as the plane touched down at the Don Mueang International Airport in Bangkok, the woman in question, along with 3 of the passengers, were dismissed from the flight and were turned in to the airport's police.

This is the not first time that they have encountered Chinese passengers melting down on flight. Incidents like this often arise from long flight delays, bad food and horrible airline services.
