Finest Squad Hacks Lizard Squad; Leaks Information to FBI Leading to Arrests

European authorities have convicted two hackers on the presumption they work for Lizard Squad.
A group of hackers by the name of Finest Squad appears to have granted the wish of many gamers by putting an end to the relentless Lizard Squad group that's been attacking gaming companies with distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) assaults.

Lizard squad struck Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network with DDoS attacks multiple times this month, causing its servers to crash for several hours, and most recently sent out an attack to game developer Electronic Arts.
The group started gaining the attention of the FBI when it called in a fake bomb threat on the plane that Sony Online Entertainment president John Smedley was traveling on a couple months ago.
The group threatened a massive attack on Xbox Live on Christmas, vowing to shut down the service "forever," but those plans could be hindered if reports from another hacker group called the Finest Squad are real.
According to several posts via Twitter, Finest Squad hacked Lizard Squad, deleted its Twitter account and leaked information of their locations, servers and website backends. This information was reportedly forwarded to the FBI, and reportedly has already led to some arrests, according to the group.
"Another Lizard arrested on multiple counts of computer tampering and terrorist threats," a Finest Squad tweet said.
Lizard Squad has been controversially called a group of hackers, but knowledgeable hacker enthusiasts claim the group doesn't hack anything, and only sends out DDoS attacks to crash the servers of gaming companies.
Finest Squad evidently showed the true power of hacking and even say they'd be able to prevent any future DDoS attacks since they have Lizard Squad's IRC Direct IP. Further DDoS attacks are unlikely now with the involvement of the FBI making multiple arrests. This could be the beginning to the end of Lizard Squad.
