Two girls from Wisconsin, accused of stabbing a friend of theirs in order to please a fictional character identified as 'Slender Man', was declared by a judge on Thursday to be fit for trial for the attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

The experts in the said state pointed out that the girls are competent and the hearings were held in a back-to-back trial on Thursday by Waukesha County Circuit Judge Michael Bohren. However, the attorneys of the two girls have contested the results of the trials.

The decision of the judge means that the cases will continue to the preliminary hearings and another judge will be deciding if there is enough evidence for the trial to further continue and to have the two girls charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

The attack happened back in May in Waukesha, Wisconsin just 25 kilometers west of Milwaukee. The two girls plotted to kill their classmate and friend identified as Payton Leutner. The two girls reportedly lured her to go to a wooded park when they were having a sleepover. Leutner was stabbed 19 times and was left for dead.

However, Leutner survived the attack as she crawled out of the woods to get to a sidewalk where a bicyclist found her hours after. The bicyclist called 911 and that's when authorities responded.

The two girls were then found walking toward a national forest where they believe a mansion was in there where Slender Man lived. They have told the investigators and the authorities that they believe Leutner being killed would please Slender Man and would let them be invited to live with the character.

All three girls were only twelve years old at the time of the said incident and Wisconsin law requires suspects aged ten years old to be charged as adults if subjected to severe crimes. However, the attorneys of the two girls are still trying to move the case to a juvenile court.
