Jackie Chan on Son's Drug Charge: Current Punishments are Costs to Pay

Jackie Chan responded to his son Jaycee Chan's drug charge for the first time on December 23 through News.cn.
On August 14, 32-year-old Jaycee was arrested by Beijing police on suspicion of allowing other people to consume drugs. On December 22, Beijing Dongcheng District People's Procuratorate prosecuted Jaycee formally with the charge of allowing other people to consume drugs. According to investigation, Jaycee has taken drugs for eight years.

"After this issue occurred, I was very shocked. I felt shamed after shocked." Jackie spoke slowly with deep voice. He said indeed he ever expressed the anger of "Beat Jaycee Chan to death" and also required lawyer to slap Jaycee for him.
"When it just happened, I lived very hard, but I had to take films very day. When I acted air movements, I forgot Jaycee's, but when I got home, I would think about him." Jackie still missed his son so much.
"Who I feel more ashamed of is Jaycee's mother." Jackie added. "His mother has never left home for over four and a half months. She has been giving herself punishment."
Jackie also stated, "He is Jackie Chan's son. The Current punishments are the costs he has to pay for his mistakes. I am not able to educate him; the country helps me to educate him and get rid of his bad habits."
Jackie believed that comparing with the devil training he got in his young age, the life Jaycee is experiencing in detention house is "just studying in a university in a place."
Jackie verified that Jaycee reads a lot of different kinds of books and requires us to buy books and bring to him. Jaycee also has to wash his underwear himself. "He receives very strict education in the detention house. It must be a life-enhancing memory for him." Said Jackie.
Jackie pointed out that he did not use his "Guanxi" to help Jaycee. "We are celebrities, who must behave in accordance with law better than others." Jackie told the son to take responsibilities on his behaviors and to accept the punishments.
