Top Most Highly Anticipated Games of 2015

The New Year is right around the corner and that means several gaming companies are already gearing up for 2015 video game releases. Here's a brief overview of some of the most highly anticipated games set to be launched in the new year, according to a poll by entertainment media company IGN.

The Division

Developed by Ubisoft, Tom Clancy's "The Division" is a third-person shooter video game that depicts a post-apocalyptic open world where gamers must fight to survive. The upcoming massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) focuses on the United States, as a disease begins to spread on Black Friday leading to the country's collapse in just five days.

"The Division" is set to be released sometime in 2015 and will launch for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC consoles.

Mortal Kombat X

"Mortal Kombat X" is the 10th main installment to the "Mortal Kombat" franchise, and like previews entries, the latest installment is a fighting game where gamers have the opportunity to duke it out with another fighter using different variations of attacks, special moves, and brutal fatalities. The game will be implementing a new original storyline featuring the most prolific characters in the "Mortal Kombat" franchise.

"Mortal Kombat X" will officially be released on April 14, 2015, and will launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC consoles, and according to reports, the game is expected to be ported to PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles as well.

Batman: Arkham Knight

Developed by Rocksteady Studios, "Batman: Arkham Knight" focuses on the DC Comics superhero Batman and is the fourth installment of the "Batman: Arkham" series. The upcoming action-adventure picks up after 2011's "Batman: Arkham City" and reportedly will depict Batman at his best in terms of abilities, as he battles with the Scarecrow who returns to Gotham City.

"Batman: Arkham Knight" will officially be released on June 2, 2015, and will launch on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC consoles.
