When one of Hollywood's longest marriages ended, Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton reassured their fans and friends that their split was amicable but the latest reports say otherwise.

The couple who reportedly has a joint wealth of roughly US$124 million were even spotted together spending time with their two children on Christmas Day.

Even though they tried to put up a front during the Holidays, reports have revealed that Burton is already in a relationship with 39-year-old, mother of one Berenice Percival who happens to be one of his production assistants. 

Percival has been working with the director for three years after she was introduced to the director by members of Johnny Depp's team. She has worked as an assistant on almost all of Depp's projects with Burton, including Charlie and The Chocolate Factory as well as Sweeney Todd. 

At first Percival took care of basic administration work but was soon promoted and was given the responsibility of handling travel arrangements for Burton, she was later on asked to accompany him during his trips.

Rumors about the affair started when Burton and Percival were spotted kissing after watching a movie in Hampstead, North London where Burton used to reside with his soon to be ex-wife. 

Helena has been silent on her split with Burton, but friends have expressed concern for the actress. A source says that Helena gave her husband some space because she thought that he was just having a midlife crisis and needed to get things out of his system. The source also adds that the actress really fought hard to save her marriage but ended up losing and reluctantly decided to end things.

Helena has not been spotted since Christmas day, but Tim and Berenice are reported to be staying in a London flat with Berenice's nine-year-old son.
