(Photo : REUTERS/Shannon Stapleton) aw enforcement officers turn their backs on a live video monitor showing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio as he speaks at the funeral of slain New York Police Department (NYPD) officer Rafael Ramos near Christ Tabernacle Church in the Queens borough of New York December 27, 2014.
To show their disagreement by what police officers perceive as his obvious bias for demonstrations across the U.S. seeking police reforms, cops turned their backs on New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio when he rose to deliver his eulogy for slain police officer Rafael Ramos.
The display of disrespect happened as soon as the mayor's image showed on the large screen that aired the funeral service for Ramos on Saturday. It was one of the largest police funerals in New York City's history.

Even U.S. Vice President Joe Biden attended the funeral for the cop slain by a man who gunned the two officers to avenge the death of unarmed black men in the hands of white officers.
"He believed in protecting others and those who are called to protect others are a special breed," Daily Times quoted the mayor saying in his eulogy.
Biden pointed out that NYC's police force has become more racially diverse from an almost pure white organization a few decades ago. Despite this, he said he still believes the NYPD can still bridge the gap between races.
The cops' reaction would likely widen the gap between de Blasio and the NYPD, said NYC Police Commissioner Bill Bratton on Sunday. He pointed out that the gap involves more than race relations but include labor contracts and other local issues that affect the ability of both parties to move forward.
He told CBS's "Face the Nation" that he disagreed with the Saturday mass action by NYPD cops in turning their backs on the mayor. Bratton added the police force would make the extra effort to fix their relationship with de Blasio as well as with the black community which distrusts the NYPD.
The funeral service was held at the Christ the Tabernacle Church, in Queens where the 40-year-old slain cop lived with wife Maritza and two teenage sons.
