Beijing has been making great strides promoting the city's bid to host the 2022 Winter Olympics, and the Chinese capital achieved another goal Monday when it received venue certifications from all seven winter sports federations within the Olympics.

"We have received all the venue certifications from the seven International Federations by early December, which is a requirement in order to bid for the Winter Games," said Ren Hongguo, the head of China's Winter Sports Administration Center.

The seven federations consists of several sports officials representing each major sport within the Winter Games Olympic event and includes skiing, skating, biathlon, hockey, curling, bobsledding and the luge.

The representatives from each federation have been visiting Beijing and surrounding cities to evaluate areas and locations that the Olympic event could potentially be held at if Beijing wins the rights to host the event over Kazakhstan's Almaty.

After several visits, the federations officially ended their gathering of information and were reportedly pleased with the results, as evident by the organizations issuing the city venue certifications.

"During their field trip, delegates from the federations also provided some useful advice to the Beijing 2022 Bid Committee and we will make sure to have the advices implemented," Hongguo said.

The decision on whether China's Beijing or Kazahkstan's Almaty would host the 2022 Winter Olympics will be made by the International Olympic Committee on July 31, 2015.

Beijing coming out on top would mark the first time a city has ever hosted both the Summer Olympic games and the Winter Olympics.
