Lizard Squad Stresser Hits 4Chan, Knocks Servers Offline

Lizard Squad's $6 stresser reportedly took down 4Chan servers, keeping them offline for over a day.
Popular imageboard 4chan has been hit by a denial of service attack (DDOS) from someone renting the Lizard Squad 'stresser' tool, allowing them access to Lizard Squad's large botnet of computers to attack websites.
The stresser is available for anyone to rent, and Lizard Squad claims to have 2400 GB/s attacks available for rent, enough to take down most servers. 4chan went down earlier this morning, the Twitter handle Lizard Mafia tweeted:

"Someone is hitting 4chan with our booter, loling irl"
Lizard Squad offers three different options for customers wanting to use the stresser, a $5.99 100-second attack, a $129.99 8-hour attack or a $500 "lifetime" pack, available for five years.
It looks like the attacker used the eight-hour attack, and 4chan has come back online in the past hour. 4chan admins have not confirmed the attack was a DDOS, but normally maintenance doesn't take eight hours.
Lizard Squad's website has changed in the past two days, following a shutdown. Several videos showed flaws on the website, and looking into the stresser found stolen code.
Vinnie Omari, 22, has been arrested in the U.K., involved in PayPal theft. The hacker is also reportedly part of Lizard Squad, as seen on the arrest warrant. The FBI has also arrested a 17-year old named "Ryan" on suspicion of involvement with Lizard Squad.
Seeing the devastation DDOS attacks can cause may lead more to use the attacks as a means of shutting down websites or servers, and Lizard Squad is a major threat with its active presence on the Internet.
