(Photo : Tmall) An iPad clone in China has been released dual-booting Android and Windows 8.1.
China is still unregulated when it comes to pirating, with Apple's legal team having little to no presence in the country.
The lack of oversight allows pirates to come out of the woodwork, including the new Onda V919 Air tablet, running Android and Windows 8.1. The Onda V919 Air looks like an exact copy of the 10-inch iPad, complete with the home button and front-facing camera on the front, and what looks like aluminum edges.

However, the dual-booting of a skinned version of Android and Windows 8.1 is interesting, considering companies in the West tried this and were blocked by Microsoft.
Internal specs include a 2048 x 1536 "retina display," 2.1GHz Intel Atom processor, 2GB of RAM, 64GB of internal storage and 3G internet. Users can upgrade to a quad-core processor, or downgrade to 16GB of internal storage.
The way ASUS and other manufacturers made the dual-boot was through an application, allowing the user to switch between Android and Windows 8.1, it looks like Onda uses the same technology.
Price wise, the Onda V919 Air comes a lot cheaper than the iPad Air, costing ¥1199 ($193) for the 64GB configuration.
Although the rumors of Chinese knockoffs will continue to put off people from purchasing a tablet, in mainland China people are more willing to give the tablet a go.
