(Photo : Reuters) "Works With Nest" now encapsulates over 5,000 developers and hundreds of smart home products.
Nest Labs has arrived at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, to show off the latest developments on the "Works With Nest" program.
The program has over 5,000 developers on board, creating hundreds of unique connections between smart home devices. One in ten users are utilizing the program to connect multiple smart home devices.

The program is still in its infancy, with Nest controlling most of the smart home devices as a central hub, and the third-party devices not being able to communicate with one another.
However, it is the largest smart home program available right now, with competitors like Apple's HomeKit not receiving as much attention from developers.
CES 2015 is an excellent place for Nest Labs to find the next smart home innovations and strike up a few partnerships, alongside promoting its own smart home devices.
Hundreds of companies flock to CES to show off the latest and greatest electronics, even if they have no chance of bringing the product to market. Fridges, dishwashers, air conditioners and all sorts are available around the conference.
Nest has announced it will work with a variety of new smart home devices, including the August smart clock, capable of heating or cooling a room depending on if the door is open, Phillips Hue, which will alert the owner if Nest senses something is wrong and Insteon, another smart control hub for all devices and lights.
The integration between devices into a central hub on Nest's platform could be a remarkable breakthrough, but what would be even crazier is the connection between one third-party device and another, all working in sync through the Nest platform.
Samsung is also showing off its own smart home platform, named SmartThings, acquired in 2014 for $200 million. SmartThings started as a kickstarter, and has become one of the most elaborate, if unconnected, smart home platforms available.
