Jeb Bush, a possible candidate for the Presidential Elections in 2016, is known for opposing gay marriage but he recently urged respect for all as same-sex couples begin to wed in Florida.
The former Florida governor said in a statement that people live in a democracy and regardless of the disagreements, the rule of law must be respected.

He added that he hopes everyone can show respect for the good people on all sides of the gay and lesbian marriage issue including the couples that are making lifetime commitments via legal protections and those who believe that marriage is a sacrament and a religious liberty.
The statement was published via the Miami Herald over the weekend as he was asked about his comments on same-sex marriage being a "state decision".
However, the latest statement by Bush also raised questions about his position on the issue. Mo Elleithee, the communications director of the Democratic National Committee, said that it would be a great thing if Bush wants to tell them he has changed his position on the issue, but the politician's statement did not imply that.
Back in 2008, Florida voters passed a revision on the state Constitution to ban same-sex marriage and civil unifications. A federal judge ruled that the ban violated the United States Constitution, leading to same-sex marriages taking effect in Florida's 67 counties on Tuesday.
Florida is not alone in this fight as Miami-Dade County has also been granted the right to perform gay marriages starting Monday.
This is not the first time that Bush has expressed his thoughts about gay marriage as back in 2012 during an interview with Charlie Rose of PBS, he talked about gay parents raising children. He said he does not think people have to be discriminated against just because they do not share the same belief on gay parents.
Jeb Bush noted that if people love their children with all their heart and soul, they should still be looked up to as a good example for others to follow.
