Two members from Lizard Squad, the group notorious for its distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, were reportedly arrested following the group's most controversial attack that occurred during Christmas Day.

Lizard Squad became popular and made headlines within the gaming industry when it began sending DDoS attacks to shut down Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, which essentially sends out a massive amount of fake traffic to crash online servers.

The most notable attack from Lizard Sqaud came on Christmas when thousands of gamers worldwide planned to test out their new consoles or video games, but quickly found out they were unable to connect to the network servers.

Some members of the group were arrested before the holiday when a hacker group, who call themselves Finest Squad hacked Lizard Squad and leaked information to the FBI. But two more members were arrested following the massive Christmas outage, according to reports.

The information on one arrest comes from Brian Krebs, founder of Krebs On Security, when he posted a bail document describing the arrest of 22-year-old Vinnie Omari. Omari, a Lizard Squad member in the UK, confirmed with Daily Dot that British law enforcement raided his home.

"They took everything," Omari said in an email to the Daily Dot after being out on bail. "Xbox one, phones, laptops, computer USBs, etc."

Another Lizard Squad member known as "Ryan," who was the spokesperson of the group following the holiday DDoS attack, was also arrested. Posts by the group's Twitter confirmed the arrest of the 17-year-old, and Lizard Squad told The Washington Post that the member still remains in jail.

Whether or not these two members will officially be charged with a crime remains to be seen, but more Lizard Squad members being targeted by police officials is certainly a good sign for the gaming community's hopes to ultimately put an end to attacks.
