Chuck Negron, a former band member of the '70s band Three Dog Night, had fought back tears while announcing the comedian's death.

Taylor had more than 100 film and television appearances since 1979. His role as a pizza delivery boy in the movie Fast Times at Ridgemont High and Rodney Dangerfield's son-in-law in Easy has cemented his fame in movies.

"I became the alternative everyman in movies." Taylor said in an old interview with KCET.

Taylor Negron not only ventured into films but he also made iconic appearances in television as well.

The actor guest-starred frequently in most television series such as Seinfeld, Hope and Gloria, Party of Five, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Ben Stiller Show and Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. He had played both comedic and serious roles in most of these TV series.

In addition to acting, Taylor had a knack for writing plays. In 2008, Taylor wrote "The Unbearable Lightness of Being Taylor Negron- a Fusion of Story and Song". The show debuted at the Edinburgh Comedy Festival, receiving critical acclaim.

Taylor also had a passion for painting. His solo exhibition of 17 pieces of work was put on display at the Laemmle Royal's "Art in the Art House" series.

Since the announcement of Taylor's death, outpouring began immediately in social media.

Fellow actor Ben Stiller tweeted, "Taylor was a smart, caring individual with a unique comedic voice. #RESPECT"

Veteran comedian Billy Crystal posted in Twitter that he remembered Taylor as a "brilliantly funny comedian actor and wonderful painter. #RestInPeace"
