The fans of the Denver Broncos let their quarterback, Peyton Manning, know exactly how they felt after playing a losing effort against the Indianapolis Colts (24-13) when they let rain a barrage of deafening "boos." The Broncos were eliminated from the playoffs.

Prior to the game against the Colts, most people thought that Manning could do no wrong in Denver. However, they were proved wrong on Sunday.

The hometown crowd ended up booing the Broncos quarterback in the first half of the team's shocking loss to the Colts in the divisional round of the National Football League (NFL) playoffs.

The attitude of the crowd is surprising as Manning led the team three straight AFC West titles, a Super Bowl, was last year's Most Valuable Player, and more touchdown drives than any other quarterback in the past three seasons.

Perhaps the disdain of the fans came from the fact that Manning's performance on Saturday was the worst of any of the eight playoff quarterbacks that played that weekend.

The boos came after a stretch of bad passes wherein Manning threw six straight incompletions.

At the end of the day, he finished with 26 of 46 for 211 yards and just one touchdown.

Last Christmas Eve, Manning was hopeful on his return for an 18th season. However, his future has become a little more uncertain after his latest playoff performance.

"Uh, yeah, I guess I just can't give that simple answer, I'm processing it. So, I can't say that. I could not say that," Manning said when he was asked if he were playing next season.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, Colts quarterback Andrew Luck earned his signature NFL win. The moment was sweeter as it came against his predecessor of all people.

Luck was calm, relaxed, and hardly pressured all afternoon. He threw two touchdown passes.

The Colts advanced to the AFC championship game with the New England Patriots.
