In another attack in the northeastern town of Potiskum located in Nigeria, a suicide bomber has been sent leaving four people dead while 35 were injured.
The attack in Cameroon has occurred in the Mabass village and according to witness' accounts, about 80 houses were destroyed followed by the abduction. Both attacks have been pinned on the Boko Haram militants and it is considered as another serious threat. According to government officials, around 30 adults were abducted, who are mostly herders, and the other 50 were children who are aged ten to 15 years old.
The attacks occurred only three days after the Cameroon President identified as Paul Biya said that Chad would be sending troops to their village in order to support the army of Cameroon in an effort to repel the attacks of the militants. Chadian troops began arriving in Cameroon on Sunday.
The attacks are also being linked to the upcoming elections on February 14 this year. The group has been extending the territories they have amassed since last year but the recent attacks have been the worse since the 300 Chibok girls were abducted.
International talks have been reportedly ongoing about the international assistance on the situation in Nigeria as the attacks of Boko Haram have taken more and more lives. Biya has been appealing for the said assistance however, only the Chadian force has responded to the assistance being asked.
Chadians are one of the best militaries in the region as they once helped the French forces to disperse the al-Qaeda linked Islamists who attacked northern Mali back in 2013.
