Chinese retired tennis star Li Na announced her pregnancy at the Australian Open in the Rover Stadium. "This summer, Dennis and I are expecting our first child," Li announced her big news in front of 15,000 fans.
Recently, Li is frequently asked about her pregnancy when she attends events. Reports said that Li unusually wore flat shoes, attended events without makeup, and often drew coats to cover her belly. However, Li did not respond to the reports and just said, "Australian Open will hold a brief ceremony for me on 19th (Beijing Time). I will announce something important at that time."

The Australian Open champion Li was back in Melbourne on Monday as a guest of honor on the first day of the tournament. The Rover Stadium means a lot to Li. She won her second grand slam singles title last year.
"This summer, Dennis and I are expecting our first child." Li announced the good news with a little bit shy. She then looked at Dennis, her husband who was in auditorium and said, "I think Dennis is doing a good job," she added, "He just made one ace." The humor made the audience laugh very happily.
Later, Li shared about her excitement at the prospect of becoming a mother via her personal Weibo and Facebook. "This summer, Dennis and I are expecting our first child. We are overjoyed! And it really feels like this baby is going to enter the world already having about 15,000 friends." Li referred to the Melbourne Crowd in her shared letter. She also mentioned that she had kept the news of pregnancy as a secret for a few months.
Li also talked a little about her recent schedule. "I have been feeling great and Dennis and I have been doing some traveling and enjoying this special time in our lives. We can't wait to become parents and start this new chapter together."
