Katie Couric Excited to Make Debut as Mrs. John Molner

Former "Today" host Katie Couric tied the knot with New York financier John Molner in an intimate wedding ceremony at Couric's summer home in East Hampton, NY on Saturday.

"So excited to make my debut as Mrs. John Molner," tweeted Couric who posted a wedding photo taken with new husband shortly after saying "I do."

The ceremony with its traditional touches was attended by 50 guests, including Couric's daughters to late husband John Paul Monahan, Ellie, 22, and Carrie, 18.

"We wanted to keep the wedding just very low-key," said Couric to People magazine, prior to saying her vows.

The intimate ceremony at The Hamptons featured readings from Molner's children, Allie and Henry, and a song performed by Couric's youngest daughter. Molner's nephews and nieces acted as ring bearers and flower girls for the couple. John Ellis, a close friend, officiated the ceremony.

The 57-year old veteran journalist walked down the aisle in an ivory Carmen Marc Volvo gown, a dress Molner helped pick for his bride.

For the reception, Hank Lane provided music while guests satisfied their sweet tooth with strawberry lemon cakes amidst gorgeous garden arrangements by Florist Elissa Held Events.

This is the second marriage for Couric whose late husband, attorney Monahan, died of colon cancer in 1998. In the years following her husband's death, Couric became a very active spokesperson for colon cancer awareness.

51-year old Molner has two children by his first wife, Jane. He is a partner at Brown Brothers Harriman & Co., where he oversees mergers and acquisitions for the firm's corporate accounts.

In the February issue of More, Couric expressed her surprise for not having been remarried after 15 years.

"I think life is more fun when you have someone in your life," she told the magazine. Molner proposed seven months after at sunset in The Hamptons.
