Fitness model Greg Plitt, who was recently struck and killed by a train in Burbank last Saturday, did not procure the proper permit to film on the train tracks where the accident occurred, according to Metrolink, as reported by Inquisitr News.

"I have no idea what Greg was thinking, but the reality is when you see tracks, you have to believe that within moments a train is coming," Scott Johnson, the spokesman for Metrolink revealed to press. He also explained that there was a process wherein once the permit to shoot is obtained, they can shoot to their heart's content.

Johnson also stated that the Los Angeles-region commuter train system gives people caution when they have posted videos and images of themselves with its tracks, but he wasn't sure if Plitt was contacted previously.

"Walking on tracks is trespassing. Tracks are for one thing-trains," Johnson further added.

"He had no permit to be there. We have a whole process for people to go through if they want to be on our right-of-way, especially for film crews," Jeff Lustgarten, another spokesman for Metrolink explained to The Times News.

In a video footage, seized by police at the scene as evidence, Plitt was with a crew of two when the train's engineer blew the horn and applied the emergency brakes, Burbank Police Sgt. Scott Meadows confirms.

Plitt's previous workout videos are shot on the same set of tracks, displaying his strength.

The crew, a man and a woman, were also questioned as part of the investigation.
