The American-only Ford Mustang will finally go global, coming to 100 markets within the year.

Ford's  2015 muscle car Mustang GT is going global for the first time, entering 100 new markets in 2015.

Previously, Ford kept the Mustang in the U.S., but in order to bring more demand it will enter into Europe, Asia and Australia.

To make sure global distribution can be managed, Ford has added 100 jobs to its Port of Portland base, where Ford will ship vehicles to China and Korea. The Maryland port is also seeing additional jobs, where Ford will ship the Mustang GT to Europe.

Ford's Flat Rock plant will be the center for Mustang GT and Fusion manufacturing, with 3,000 employees working two shifts to make all of the units. Ford has not announced how many units it hopes to ship in 2015.

Final additions to the car are made in local regions, for example in the UK Ford adds the wheel at the end, due to it being on the right side, similar to Australia.

"Preparing these vehicles for shipment to their final destination is critical to satisfying both customer and regulatory requirements for our markets around the world," said Gerald Schoenle, director of Ford Trading Co. "We want our customers globally to know that their Ford vehicles will meet emissions, safety and road-worthiness requirements."

Ford shipped over 400,000 cars overseas in 2014, making it the U.S. automaker on overseas sales. The automotive company is projecting even better sales in 2015, with the Mustang GT finally coming to new markets.

At CES 2015, Ford showed off the SYNC 3 media system, but CEO Mark Fields had some disappointing news on the self-driving front, claiming it would not make an autonomous car until the technology was ready in five years.
