The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has released a new audio message on Wednesday in which Japanese hostage Kenji Goto was purportedly used to relay information that the terror group was extending Jordan's deadline on the release of an Iraqi prisoner that it was asking for.
Jordan has offered a prisoner swap to ISIS as they attempt to save a Jordanian captive, an air force pilot who is also under threat from decapitation along with Goto. In the audio message, Goto spoke in English saying that the Jordanians should bring Sajida al-Rishawi by sunset on Thursday at the Turkish border, or he and the pilot identified as Mu'as al-Kasaseabeh will die.

It has not been confirmed when the message was recorded but it was distributed on Twitter and other social media accounts of the terror group.
Reports say the father of the pilot met with the king of Jordan and he was assured that everything will be fine.
King Abdullah II of Jordan is now facing pressure in his country to safely rescue the pilot. Analysts say, however, that if the Jordanian government releases the al-Qaeda bomber that it has been holding behind bars, the move will be contrary to the country's policy on handling issues related to extremism.
Japan and Jordan have been exerting effort to meet the demands and deadlines of ISIS in order to secure the release of their hostaged citizens even as the terror group again issued an ultimatum saying they will kill the hostages in the next 24 hours if the bomber was not released.
Jordanian government spokesman Mohammed al-Momani confirmed that they are ready to trade the prisoner, an Iraqi woman who was accused of involvement in the Amman hotel bombings in 2005. However, the spokesman did not mention Goto and has not elaborated on the extent and details of the prisoner swap.
Despite Jordan's willingness to do a prisoner swap, the United States is not urging the country to negotiate with the extremists. Jordan and the U.S. are close allies in efforts to banish ISIS militants.
There have been protests rallying for the release of the pilot, whose family have joined other citizens in criticizing the Jordanian government in its handling of the hostage issue.
Goto's mother, Junko Ishido, has also been appealing publicly to Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe to save her son even before his fellow captive was beheaded.
