Instagram Goes Offline Again

Facebook subsidiary Instagram has gone offline again. The outage follows Facebook's longest ever period of inactivity since 2010 when it shut down servers of Instagram, Tinder, AIM and Hipchat for 2.5 hours.
Instagram went offline for around an hour worldwide. The outage lasted 30 minutes for some users. Instagram wasn't available for others for a full hour.

Users went over to Twitter to complain about the services being offline, and Instagram hit the top trends for a few hours earlier this morning.
Instagram has over 300 million active users. That's 100 million more than Twitter, meaning it's very important to keep these folks happy and active on the photo sharing platform.
Users typically spend more time in one day on Instagram than Facebook or Twitter, with the average time spent per day over 40 minutes.
It looks like the case is solely linked to Instagram since Facebook and other server connected services stayed online. Instagram hasn't made an official announcement.
Thankfully, the notorious Lizard Squad didn't claim to have attacked Instagram this time, although it still claims it knocked off Facebook's servers. Facebook has denied these claims, stating it was an internal failure.
Even if 30 minutes seems a hilariously small and insignificant amount of time, for Instagram that time could spell hundreds of thousands of dollars in lost revenue.
