Nigerian Pop Star Offers Virginity to Boko Haram in Exchange for Kidnapped Girls

In a desperate plea for the release of 276 schoolgirls who were kidnapped earlier this year, Nigerian pop star Adokiye has said she will sacrifice her virginity to the Boko Haram in exchange for the girls' return.
In a recent interview with Showtime, up-and-coming pop singer Adokiye surprised everyone by admitting she is still a virgin. The 23-year-old then tried to strike a deal with the extremist group responsible for kidnapping the schoolgirls by stating that she would willingly offer up her virginity to them if the young girls could be returned to their families.

"This is 11 p.m. in the night and do you know what I am thinking about? Those little girls, where they are and what could be happening to them. It is just unfair. They are too young. I wish I could offer myself in exchange," Adokiye told Showtime.
When a reporter attempted to educate the young woman on the unspeakable acts that could be done to her as a result, the starlet still refused to back down.
"They are between 12 and15 year old girls for Christ sake. I am older and more experienced. Even if 10 to 12 men have to take me every night, I don't care. Just release these girls and let them go back to their parents," she boldly said.
Although the Nigerian pop princess' words have been looked upon by some as self-sacrificing, Adokiye has also been on the receiving end of vast amounts of criticism for supposedly making the remarks solely to garner media attention.
Considering that the young star ended the interview by stating that anyone who deflowered her would have to buy her mother a jet, it's likely that she can't be taken too seriously.
However, desperate times call for desperate measures and a few other women followed suit by offering to take the girls' places if the Boko Haram is indeed willing to make the exchange.
