Thousands of bets were made on Super Bowl XLIX, but one of the closest came from a simulation of the game by EA on Madden 15.

The video game -- adored by NFL fans -- managed not only to predict the final score but also the most valuable player (MVP) alongside other events.

Madden 15 predicted a 28-24 finish, Tom Brady as the MVP and even managed to predict four touchdowns. The only hiccup was how many yards Brady would get. Madden 15 predicted 335 yards when it was 328 yards in the actual game, which is pretty impressive.

Even the timing of the touchdowns almost mimicked the real game, with the Patriots coming back in the second-half to beat the Seahawks.

Another virtual simulation was run by Microsoft's virtual assistant Cortana, claiming the Patriots would win. This isn't as impressive as the Madden 15 simulation, but still shows virtual services seem to have the upper hand when it comes to predictions compared to humans.

Microsoft has been making even more predictions available on Cortana like the best movie at the Oscars and best new artist at the Grammys using social trending data.

The world of virtual simulation could enhance or ruin betting in the future since artificial intelligence can perfectly map out every potential aspect of a big match or event to near perfect results.

It could also be used to gain more leverage in political campaigns, something the Republicans and Democrats are both trying to build into their campaigns for 2016.
