A food bank in Stratford, Ontario, has Canadian pop star Justin Bieber to thank for after some personal items of the controversial singer raised funds for the charity.
Topping the Bieber items sold on eBay through an auction is his Nike basketball shoes that was sold for US$62,000. Other things from the singer that were bought at the auction were a Maple Leafs comforter auctioned for US$6,000, a pillow case sold for over US$3,000 and a ceiling light that fetched a little less than US$2,000, NBC reports.

Bieber autographed the items when he went home to Ontario for the holidays, while his grandmother provided a signed certificate authenticating that the auctioned goods belonged to the singer.
Diane and Bruce Dale, the grandparents of Bieber, brought the items of the singer to raise cash for the food bank named Stratford House of Blessing. The mother of Bieber, Pattie Mallette, said they chose to help Stratford because the same food bank helped them during hard times before Bieber became famous following a YouTube posting of his performance.
To promote the auction, which ran from January 31 through noon of February 7, Mallette tweeted, "Go see what @justinbieber donated/signed to support @StratfordHOBauction. Grateful for their help in the early years," quotes Christian Post.
In her guesting at "Watch What Happens Live" on Bravo TV in 2013, Mallette acknowledged that her son could be misbehaving at times, but adds he makes attempt to do great things by giving back.
She laments that the public gets to know some of Bieber's not-so-charitable act but shares that the singer meets with kids from the Make-a-Wish charity foundation before each show.
