(Photo : Reuters) Netflix has arrived in Cuba, despite the lack of internet availability in the country.
Netflix has announced it will launch its video streaming service in Cuba, following the end to a long trade embargo by the United States against the communist country.
The diplomatic negotiations between the two nations have perked technology companies, eager to get first dibs on the country's lacking infrastructure and internet usage.

"We are delighted to finally be able to offer Netflix to the people of Cuba, connecting them with stories they will love from all over the world," said Netflix co-founder and chief executive Reed Hastings in a statement.
"Cuba has great filmmakers and a robust arts culture and one day we hope to be able to bring their work to our global audience of over 57 million members," he added
The move is part of an international expansion from Netflix, looking to cover over 200 countries with the video streaming service.
Currently, Netflix has various licensing issues with the movie and TV industry but has hope its growing library of original content will be enough to satisfy users.
House of Cards and Orange is the New Black will both be available on Cuba's Netflix, allowing Cubans to get a firsthand view at the underhand U.S. political system.
Netflix is not the only company working on getting service into Cuba. Mastercard and American Express have both announced operations in Cuba will start soon.
Even though Cuba is a communist state, it has excellent education and health facilities, showing it can be turned into a high-level economic country.
This has happened to China over the past 20 years, opening the doors slowly to foreign companies.
