The Chinese app outfit Wifi Skeleton Key is giving away electric cars to dozens of its employees as a reward for their hard work and loyalty.

The employees did not need to wait years before they were given the bonanza.

They became eligible for the bonus as soon as they reached their fourth month of employment in the tech firm.

Wifi Skeleton Key founder Chen Danian says, he wants to prove to their employees just how much the company values and respects their talents.

He adds, 'talent is the key determinant for the success of high-tech companies.'

Companies usually distribute cash pay-outs to outstanding employees, but Wifi Skeleton Key included Sedan's Tesla Model S vehicles in its bonanza.

The firm's generosity sums up to the amount of $4.8 million. The company currently has about 50 employees.

The first batch of recipients got their cars last week.

Car manufacturer Sedan has also confirmed the news.

Wifi Skeleton Key is the maker of Wifi Key Master, which is a mobile app that automatically connects devices to public wifi networks when in range.

The app reportedly has over 500 million users as of the end of September last year and has more than 230 million active users.

It also claims to have 120 million Wifi hotspots across China.

Wifi Skeleton Key is backed by Chinese game developer and publisher, Shanda Innovation Institute.

The big gesture is not new among top Chinese tech firms. Many of them have been known to grant end-of-year bonuses as big as several years' worth of regular pay.

The trend is led by three top internet companies in China led by Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent.

In Baidu, one top company performer claims to have received a bonus equivalent to 50 months' salary.

An Alibaba employee, meanwhile, boasted that his bonus is equivalent to 100 months' salary. Tencent, meanwhile, reportedly gave out a bonus worth 68 months' worth of salary last year.
