Police have confirmed that the corpse of a newborn located in a swamp in at about 9:50 on Wednesday morning is that of Justice Rees. Deputies of the Yolo County Sheriff's Office marine patrol search and rescue unit had recovered the remains in a remote area at the south bank of Ridge Cut Slough, west of Knights Landing.

Until now, mystery surrounds the bizzare disappearance and now the death of Justice.
He and his mother, 23-year-old Samantha Green, were reported missing when they did not show up in their home in Woodland on Monday.
At about 5:30 on Tuesday afternoon, Samantha emerged from a creek in nearby Knights Landing. She was wet and hysterical.
Her neighbor, Ricardo Villasenor, heard her screams and he promptly called 911. Villasenor says, Samanta had told told him to call 911 and that she was abducted.
He remembers, the baby's mother had blurted out, "My baby's out there. It's dead. It froze to death."
He also said the mother could not tell him what exactly happened, or if she does not remember anything. He recalls, Samanta was badly bruised and disoriented but she did not look like she figured in a physical fight.
"She looked like she had spent a couple of nights in the slough," narrates Villasenor.
Ricardo also tells investigators that Samantha knew exactly where her car was, but she could not remember how it got there.
The baby's disappearance had triggered a massive search by emergency teams. When authorities announced that Justice had been found, Yolo County Sheriff's Captain Larry Cecchettini said in a press conference on Wednesday that have been searching all night and that the outcome left everyone emotional.
"When you have something like this, especially when it involves a child, you just don't give up," Cecchettini said.
Samantha was brought to Woodland hospital for treatment. By Wednesday, she had been discharged.
The baby's grandmother believes in the account of Samantha. Patty Rees says her son, the baby's father, lives with her, along with Samantha and her baby.
"I'm sure neither of the parents had any part in it. You can tell she fought off an attacher. So somewhere in the mix, the baby got left behind," Patty says.
Patty describes Justice as the sweetest baby she has ever held.
Mediamen covering the story have asked Samantha's father about her mental state, before she and her baby went missing. But he only said he does not want to discuss it right now because of too many things going on.
Investigators have not found any evidence of foul play. They have also not made any arrests.
Samantha gave the investigators very limited information.
Yolo County Sherriff Ed Prieto says, Justice' mother is not considered a suspect, but investigators will be talking with her again. Prieto added that everything is still a blur because there are no independent witnesses and there is limited information, but he vowed to investigate any claims that Samantha would make.
The newborn's father and other relatives are cooperating with the police, as they mourn the death of Justice.
An autopsy will be conducted on the infant's remains on Thursday.
