The high-energy and outgoing Labrador retriever kept its top spot in a ranking of canine breeds in 2014 of the American Kennel Club.
Its reign as top canine is the 24th time the Labrador retriever has one-upped all other dog breeds.
The active Lab retriever is described as a dynamite breed of medium size.

The breed -- which come in chocolate, yellow and black - was officially recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1917.
Due to their agreeable personalities, Lab retrievers are one of popular breeds that serve as guide dogs for the blind.
They also usually help in narcotics detection as well as search and rescue activities.
The old titleholder, the poddle, dropped to seventh place in the 2014 list.
The poodle came out on top and kept it for decades, but the Lab retriever, with it second win in a row, is on a lucky streak.
A Lab retriever breeder, Micki Beerman, said the dogs are very intuitive, meaning they sort of know when they are needed.
He recalled an incident in which one of her Lab retrievers went out on a limb to win the love of a shy child.
Labrador retrievers have consistently ranked in the Kennel Club's top ten since the 1970s.
Meanwhile, French bulldogs finally made it to a top ten spot, slowly going up the ranks from 49th in the last ten years.
The rise of French bulldogs and the persistence of rottweilers led to dachshunds slipping out of the top ten and into eleventh place. French bulldogs were in the eleventh spot in 2013.
The Kennel Club said French bulldogs are just as popular with children as Labrador retrievers.
They do not like being alone as do Lab retrievers and they also lag behind other top breeds in their ability to play well with other pets.
