(Photo : Reuters) The United States named the coalition campaign against the Islamic State group Operation Inherent Resolve on Wednesday, October 15, 2014.
The U.S. and its allied nations conducted on Thursday airstrikes against ISIS at the north east part of Syria.
According to the Combined Joint Task Force, 14 airstrikes were launched since Wednesday morning towards the ISIS' tactical posts in the province of Hassakeh and its other bases near Ain al-Arab.

The anti-ISIS coalition carried out the airstrikes in response to the recent atrocities conducted by the militant group at the town of Tal Tamer in Hassakeh.
On Monday, ISIS raided the town of Tal Tamer and abducted at least 70 Assyrian Christians, most of whom are women and children.
According to recent reports, the victims are now being held by ISIS at its tactical posts in Hassakeh.
The Monday atrocity led to the evacuation of around 5,000 people from the areas near Tal Tamer.
Most of them are taking refuge in the city of Qamishli, an area in Hassakeh, which is a stronghold of the Kurdish and Syrian forces.
"The people arriving are desperate. They are coming with nothing, they left everything behind," said Jean Tolo of Qamishli Assyrian Organization for Relief and Development. "We have received around 200 families who are being hosted in local homes."
Accordingly, the ISIS killed 31 members of the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) and Assyrian defense troops, and at least 35 jihad members during the Monday attack.
Assyrian Network for Human Rights in Syria Director Osama Edward said that his organization was able to gather the names of the 255 victims who are still missing.
Meanwhile, the United Nations and U.S. condemned the recent harassments and abduction of the ISIS.
U.S. State Department Spokesperson Jen Psaki said, "ISIL's latest targeting of a religious minority is only further testament to its brutal and inhumane treatment of all those who disagree with its diverse and toxic beliefs."
