William Shatner, otherwise known as Captain Kirk in Star Trek, couldn't attend the funeral of his friend and co-star Leonard Nimoy due to a Red Cross Charity Event, so he paid tribute to Mr. Spock by answering the questions of the fans from famous sci-fi franchise via Twitter yesterday, according to Time News.

Shatner and Nimoy played the two best known characters in the original Star Trek series, which was aired in 1966. A series of films ensued after that, gaining a wide fan base and cult following.
"Leonard's funeral is tomorrow. I can't make it back in time," says Shatner via Twitter.
"I feel really awful. Here I am doing charity work and one of my dearest friends is being buried," he further added.
In a heartwarming act to honor a co-star and a good friend, Shatner decided to pay tribute via Twitter.
"So maybe tomorrow we come together here and celebrate his life," Shatner said in a previous tweet.
Here are some of the selected tweets, which reflect Shatner's best memories of Mr. Spock.
When Shatner was asked via Twitter what was his favorite role of Nimoy, he simply replied "Friend".
Another fan also asked, "What kind of a dad is he?"
"The best. He was also an amazing uncle to my daughters," Shatner replied.
Another fan asked a funny question, whether Shatner ever tried on Mr. Spock's ears.
"I had my own ears in one episode," says Shatner, who is also known in Star Trek as Captain Kirk.
Newsman Joey Parker also asked Shatner if he had any regrets with regards to his relationship with Leonard Nimoy.
"That it could've have lasted a lot longer," replies the 83 year old Canadian actor.
So far, one of the best tweets of Shatner is his reply to one fan's tweet, whether this series of tribute must be very emotional for Shatner.
"It's healing," the 83 year old actor replied.
