Huawei Becomes First Chinese Member of Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals

Chinese telecom giant Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. announced today it has become the first Chinese company to join the Association of Strategic Alliance Professionals (ASAP).
Established in 1998, ASAP is a non-profit worldwide professional membership organization with over 2,500 members from 35 countries.

"As a global leader in the ICT industry, Huawei has unique expertise to contribute but also much to learn from the experience of other ASAP members," said Paul Liu, Huawei's president of corporate partner and alliance management group.
"As the ICT industry grows, we are all increasingly dependent on open, cross-industry collaboration, alliances and ecosystems. Huawei is committed to bringing strong alliance thought leadership to the broader ASAP partner community and to benefiting through our ASAP membership,"
Huawei will now have access to ASAP's tools, processes and practice guides to enable it to develop stronger global alliances.
"Huawei has demonstrated a profound belief that the future of ICT will be dominated by a more open and collaborative environment as technologies converge and businesses focus more on their core expertise." said Mike Leonetti, chief executive officer and president of ASAP.
"Huawei's significance expertise and market leadership, will support ASAP's membership goal to gain a deeper insight into China and the global markets it serves." Leonetti added.
Recently, the Chinese telecom giant also announced it's demonstrating its ICT innovation technologies for smart cities, including 5G technology and its 'MirrorSys', at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015.
MirrorSys is a communication technology part of Huawei's new concept called full field communication system. This new system allows a room to morph into five different ambient environments.
Other international telecom giants demonstrating their technologies at the MWC 2015 include Nokia Networks, Cisco Systems, Inc., Samsung Electronics, Blackberry Ltd. and SK Telecom, among others.
