Pebble has updated its Kickstarter campaign to include a revamped version of the steel version named Pebble Time Steel.

It comes in the middle of the most successful Kickstarter ever, gaining over $15 million in funding with 23 days to go. The smartwatch is gaining a huge amount of attention, just one month prior to the Apple Watch launch.

The Time Steel will feature a similar redesign to the original Time but everything will be made of steel for a premium look. For only $70 more than the original, it seems worth it for anyone wanting a fancier look.

Pebble Time offers a range of upgrades to the previous model. Most important is that the E-Ink display is now in full color. The interface for reading notifications has been revamped in a new feature called Timeline and allows users to check past, present and future notifications.

The assurances of long battery life are still there for Pebble Time and Time Steel. Both still offer seven days' battery life, a huge increase over the few hours Apple Watch and most Android Wear smartwatches offer.

Pebble also announced a new initiative for third-party developers to allow them to create bands with new sensors and customized designs. This store will launch later in the year.

There is still over three weeks before Pebble Time's Kickstarter ends and already it looks to be the largest crowdfunded effort in the history of Kickstarter.
