Tesla Motors has denied reports its Gigafactory is behind schedule due to delays and changes in the design of the battery factory.

Following an International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers job posting claiming the Gigafactory was delayed and needed more workers, several news outlets claimed Tesla was behind in schedule. Tesla spokeswoman Alexis Georgeson was quick to deny the rumor, however.

"It would be incorrect to say that construction is delayed at the Gigafactory site," she said.

The IBEW has denied to comment on the original job posting, claiming it's under non-disclosure agreement with Tesla Motors until the completion of the project.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has confirmed the Gigafactory is necessary to keep the Model S and upcoming Model X on the road since the supply of batteries is too small to fund mainstream adoption of electric cars.

Having this Gigafactory will speed-up development of the lithium-ion batteries used in electric cars. Tesla is partnering with Panasonic to develop the Gigafactory but Musk claims there will be more factories in the future as it continues to grow.

The Gigafactory is based in the Nevada desert where further expansion could be approved by the state governors. Tesla claims the Gigafactory will bring new jobs to the area, alongside a surge in money for the state.

Tesla seems to be at the forefront of every advance in electric cars but some investors are worried Musk's helpful attitude towards other automotive giants could be Tesla's downfall since the company is already quite far ahead of other companies.

Musk isn't worried, however. He said Tesla's goal is to bring the advent of mainstream electric car adoption closer. Opening the patents and supercharger stations for anyone is a smart way to push electric car adoption.
