Bali Nine's ringleader Andrew Chan reportedly asked his girlfriend Febyanti Herwila to marry him and they are now engaged despite him being on death row.
The engagement comes in the wake of an announcement that the execution will push through. He was recently transferred to an Indonesian prison and his clemency plea was rejected by Indonesian President Joko Widodo.

According to reports, 31-year-old Chan gave "Feby" a ring when she last visited him. She did not hesitate to say "Yes" to Chan and has been seen wearing the engagement ring since.
In a statement, Herwila said agreeing to marry Chan was not at all related to feeling pity for the prisoner as she noted that her love for him is true.
"Andrew is one of the strongest, kindest people I have ever met. I have never seen him as just a prisoner or someone who is on death row," Herwila shares. "I love him for who he is. And I see what he does for other people and that makes me love him more."
Herwila first met Chan in 2012 when she visited the jail as a pastor. They both talked about their shared beliefs and faith and a romantic relationship bloomed in early 2014.
Chan proposed to Herwila in front of his parents and his three siblings and they celebrated the event with a cake. The group reportedly prayed that the couple will have a happy and long life as a married couple.
The newly engaged couple also talked about having children and possibly building a community center where they could help underprivileged kids
There is no available information yet as to when Chan and Herwila will get married and if they will be allowed to hold a wedding ceremony.
Bali Nine is a group of nine Australians arrested in April 17, 2005 in Bali, Indonesia for attempting to smuggle 8.3 kilograms of heroin.
Myuran Sukmuran, another Bali Nine member, is in the same jail and is also up for death penalty. The seven other members of the group were sentenced to lifetime imprisonment.
