Hassan Whiteside has been served with a one-game suspension without pay after insinuating an uncalled for elbowing against Boston Celtic's Kelly Olynyk.

The questionable play happened when Mario Chalmers was about to drive to the basket and Olynyk came after for a defense, a move that certainly cut Whiteside's way. Whiteside downplayed the situation by making it happen like it was an uncontrolled surge to defend the ball.

Unfortunately, referees saw the play as a flagrant foul after a series of playbacks. While the play was questionably involved Whiteside's forearm, referees put it as an elbow.

The Miami Heat is clinging to the 8^th spot on the NBA Eastern Conference with a 28-35 standing while the Boston Celtics trails them on a 26-36 standing.

Whiteside received a flagrant foul which was cited as "unnecessary and excessive conduct." Whiteside is barely making a good impression after he also had an altercation with Alex Len of the Phoenix Suns. \

Although he was fined US$15,000, the league office has passed on a more substantial fine for the player. According to Sports Yahoo, Whiteside will miss a game on Wednesday against Brooklyn Nets, who are also vying for that elusive last seat for the playoffs.

In an interview, Heat star Dywane Wade said, "He's had enough veteran advice. There comes a time where you have to do it yourself. There's only so many words people can continue to say to you."

Wade also added: "You gotta do it for the other guys in here that you see sacrificing. That you see out there playing hurt and all the things that are going on."

Wade also gave advice to Whiteside, mentioning how he understands that at times they are bound to have their selfish moments. However, it should not always be the case and if Whiteside continues the way he acts, then he cannot be depended on by the team itself.
