FAW Group Corp is one of the top and biggest auto makers in China and is known for its successful partnership with other top companies such as General Motors, Toyota and Volkswagen. Due to the news about Xu being investigated, the shares of the company reportedly fell to as much as 5.6 percent.
The investigation also affected other car manufacturers related to FAW Group Corp such as Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile Co Ltd and Changchun Faway Automobile Components Co Ltd.
Qui is well known for his tyrannical style of ruling his people and is known as one of the best officials in politics. There are no other available details about what prompted the investigation both for Qui and Xu but his urban construction projects are reportedly the subject of the probe.
Also, the verdict for these two and the progress of their cases are yet to be announced.
President Xi started his anti-graft drive when he took office in 2012. He vowed to take down former and present officials who are guilty of corruption.
The latest senior official taken down by Xi and his team is former security tsar Zhou Yongkang, who was appointed by the government to advise on and coordinate policy in a particular area.
