Another monster performance by Russell Westbrook and a masterful performance in the fourth quarter allowed the Oklahoma City Thunder to avenge a loss they sustained from the Chicago Bulls earlier this season (109-100).
The Thunder and the Bulls had met previously this season where Westbrook showed shades of his superstar-dom when he scored a whopping 43 points. However, proving that Westbrook is still a human that makes mistakes, he committed a couple of costly errors in that last game.

Those errors included shooting an air ball and stepping out of bounds on back-to-back plays nearing the end of the game. Westbrook took all the blame for that loss, but was determined not to let it happen again.
He had his chance for vengeance against the Bulls where he seemed to call all the right plays and did all the right moves. This included a rebound by Westbrook on his own free throw that clinched the win.
The start of the game, though, was a tight contest between the two teams. It was anyone's game that night. When the fourth quarter came though, Westbrook activated another gear and took off without looking back.
In the fourth quarter alone, he scored 23 points and three assists. His efforts contributed to all but five of the Thunder's final scoring in the quarter.
Apart from Westbrook's explosive performance though, two of the Thunder big men --- namely Steven Adams and Enes Kanter --- stepped up and found their own grooves as they had to step up for injured Serge Ibaka.
Starting together for the first time, Adams and Kanter combined for a total of 32 points and 29 rebounds.
While Westbrook did not earn another triple-double as has been customary of late, he still finished with 36 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists.
The Thunder move half a game ahead of the New Orleans Pelicans for eighth place in the Western Conference.
