Beauty and the Beast fans, mark your calendars, as Disney's live-action take on the beloved classic 1991 film has just gotten a release date.

The studio announced early Monday that the film is scheduled to hit theaters on March 17, 2017. The announcement comes just after Disney's live-action Cinderella proved to be another box-office success.

As previously reported, the darling Emma Watson will play the role of Belle, Downtown Abbey's Dan Stevens will play the Beast and the Prince and Furious 6 star Luke Evans as the handsome but conceited Gaston.

Josh Gad, who voiced Olaf in Frozen, has signed on to play LeFou, Gaston's sidekick, while Emma Thompson has joined the cast as Mrs. Potts and Kevin Kline as Maurice, Belle's father.

According to a formal announcement made by Disney, eight-time Oscar-winner, film composer Alan Menken, who already won the Academy Awards for Best Original Score and Best Original Song for the movie's original version, will again score the film. He is reportedly working on new recordings of the original songs, aside from new songs written by himself and British lyricist, Sir Tim Rice.

The script was written by "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" author Stephen Chbosky and will be directed by Bill Condon, the director of the two final installments of the Twilight series: Breaking Dawn Part 1 and Breaking Dawn Part 2.

Filming is scheduled to start in May at Shepperton Studios in London.
