Twitch is reseting passwords following a major breach.

Twitch has sent out a password reset to all user accounts on its streaming service following a major breach on its backend.

The extent of the breach isn't clear but all accounts have been reset. Twitch has also removed all stream keys along with associated Twitter and YouTube accounts.

That means for active streamers, another new stream key will be necessary to continue. Any associated channels will also need to be re-connected. Twitch claims users should reset passwords on other platforms in case the breach affected multiple networks.

"We also recommend that you change your password at any website where you use the same or a similar password," said Twitch in a statement. "We will communicate directly with affected users with additional details."

It's the first major breach for Twitch since the Amazon acquisition for $1 billion. Considering Twitch has moved to Amazon's back-end technology, this could be a hit on Amazon Web Services reputation although we still don't know specifics.

Twitch is the largest video game streaming service in the West with thousands of pro-players and personalities streaming gameplay of League of Legends, Hearthstone, DoTA 2, CS: GO and other multiplayer games online.

Even though it lacks the large user numbers YouTube pumps out, it still has 40 million active monthly users and over one million streamers. Twitch is focusing on building its ad network with the help of Amazon to add more revenue for streamers and the company.
