The Los Angeles Dodgers are willing to bet that Yasmani Grandal will work better than he did with the San Diego Padres.
It is no secret that certain pitchers prefer throwing to certain receivers. So what would happen if Dodgers pitchers Clayton Kershaw and Zach Greinke don't take to Grandal?

The question does not come from out of the blue though. Grandal has had some tough luck of late, capped most recently with his falling out with the Padres.
However, the Dodgers see Grandal as a good catch. He is a 26-year old switch-hitter who has been the centrepiece for the return of Matt Kemp.
Now with his new team, Grandal is expected to handle a more established rotation that incorporates data-driven scouting reports from the Dodgers' new front office. He also has a strong backer in the form of Vice President of baseball operations Josh Byrnes.
Finally, Grandal will also be working with new advance scout Danny Lehmann who is a former catcher who climbed to the top of the Triple A.
In his time with the team, Grandal has described his experience as an awesome one. He says that the more he catches, the better he gets.
As for the relationship aspect with the other players, he adds that the more he catches, the better his relationships will be.
If Kershaw's comments are any indication for Grandal's future with the Dodgers, it might be a bright one.
"I haven't seen any of that. The only thing you want in a catcher is that he works. He does that," Kershaw says. "He's a hard worker. Not only with catching, the physical part of it, but the mental side. He knew what I did before I even talked to him."
Grandal's relationship with his previous team --- the Padres --- soured reportedly due to his attitude. He often acted self-confident yet stubborn at the same time.
Moving forward, if any hint of those traits still remains in his personality, he may well have to suppress it to make a successful team.
