Jackson has long been contemplating whether to play Wolverine as long as he can or finally hang his claws of Adamantium. He finally made that decision when he posted a photo of him in Instagram with his claws and with a matching caption that said, "Wolverine, one last time."
Jackman, a stage actor, made his debut as Wolverine last 2000, during the first real-life movie portrayal of the famous uncanny team.
He has since played Wolverine seven times and was even featured in a cameo in the prequel, X-men: First Class. Jackman also has his own three set of spinoff films that were all blockbuster hits.
Jackman will reprise his iconic role in X-men: Apocalypse, which due for release within this year.
Aside from playing a Marvel superhero, Jackman receives a steady stream of projects, both in Broadway and in film.
He stars in the brand new sci-fi film, 'Chappie' and will also take on the role of Blackbeard in 'Pan', a fantasy film inspired by Peter Pan according to Daily Mail UK.
Jackman's current project is set in Germany for the movie, 'Eddie The Eagle', a dramedy depicted about the real life story of British skier Michael Edwards. Jackman plays Chuck Berghorn, a ski expert.
Jackman also has a one man show, titled 'An Evening With Hugh Jackman' but a vocal hemorrhage forced him to pull out of the set of Istanbul temporarily.
If the speculations are indeed true about Jackman's 'last stand' as Wolverine, this will mark the end of Jackman's golden era of playing Wolverine.
