Apple is preparing for the global launch of the Apple Watch on April 10. Before launch, it's putting down the ground rules, most notably no customizations to the Watch on pre-order.
Customers will only be able to choose one strap when visiting the Apple store. If customers want to check all of the options, they'll need to book several visits or buy a collection of straps for an extra price.

This is an odd move by Apple since it's changing its entire retail experience to win over luxury fashion buyers. If straps aren't available to pick and choose, it might put some customers off the smartwatch.
Apple is offering some luxuries to Watch buyers, including 24/7 support and a free Virtual Personal Setup to make sure everything works. Watch Edition customers will be able to test the device for 30 minutes before testing straps and accessories for an additional 30 minutes.
It's not clear if Apple will make sure the buyer is able to pay $10 to $17,000 before checking out the Watch Edition through a down payment or credit card. Considering the limited supply, we suspect some kind of verification will be added.
The Apple Watch Sport starts at $349 and the Watch will cost $449. All three devices come in two sizes and the larger size adds an extra $50. The Watch and Watch Edition will feature leather, plastic, metal and gold straps.
