Microsoft has confirmed the date for the launch of Halo 5: Guardians.
Microsoft has announced Halo 5: Guardians will be available on October 27 for the Xbox One.
It's the fifth installment of the Halo franchise (not including spin-offs) following the life of Master Chief. Microsoft, and 343 Industries are looking to turn the tables by introducing a new protagonist, Spartan Locke, into the mix against Master Chief.

For those that have followed the Halo franchise since its launch over a decade ago, the story has gone through many twists and turns. Similar to Mass Effect, players have not always felt happy with the decisions made by the writers, and this new episode might be the most controversial, if it can keep players interested.
Microsoft recently launched Halo: The Master Chief Collection to mixed reviews. Even though the initial excitement for the collection was quite high, the huge issues with multiplayer left a lot of gamers upset.
In just a few months, most of the multiplayer on Halo: MCC dwindled to a few hundred players. This is bad for business, considering Microsoft wanted that to be the beacon for Halo 5: Guardians, which is still several months away.
Xbox One is in desperate need of quality titles.
Sunset Overdrive was a good title for the end of 2014 but not exactly groundbreaking and it didn't appeal to everyone. Bloodborne is the hot new thing on PS4, but Microsoft has nothing to match it at the current time.
