American NASCAR driver Denny Hamlin notched the first win of the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and got his team back on the winning track.
Recently, Hamlin has been in a slump. It seemed that Hamlin just needed to visit the Martinsville Speedway to get back to his winning ways.

The win was also Hamlin's fifth career Cup at Martinsville. It was an exciting race with Hamlin holding off last week's winner, Brad Keselowski, on the last lap.
Not even bitter about it, Keselowski said that it was all in all a good race. While the day was up and down, they finished on a strong note. More than that, even though he did not get a trophy, he had fun.
All throughout the race, Hamlin was at the head of the pack. He lost positions, though, when he entered the pit road. His team also had a tire issue during a lap 95 caution, and on lap 165 was called for a tire penalty.
Apart from that, Hamlin would also give up positions on purpose in order to restart positions in the inside line.
With under 30 laps left, Hamlin passed his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Matt Kenseth.
Keselowski and teammate Joey Logano were able to finish second and third as they passed Kenseth with a little more than 20 laps to go.
Kenseth and teammate David Ragan rounded out the top five.
Despite the unfortunate penalties and with the odd tactics, Hamlin was still able to come out with the win.
The event also saw Kevin Harvick knocked out of his streak of consecutive top-two finishes at eight. Harvick led 153 laps of the whole race but ended up eighth in the end. He was overtaken by Hamlin on the 398th lap.
While he remained in the top five for most of the match, he fell back with 60 laps left to go.
