Actor Law Kar Ying suffered a long battle with liver cancer for almost a decade.  After a brief admission to the hospital for a scheduled operation for removal of a minor tumor last 2013, Law appears to have fully recovered and is currently in full remission, according to Jaynestars News.

Law was initially diagnosed with stage III liver cancer almost 12 years ago. After undergoing a surgical operation, he was discharged from the hospital and was advised to stay home and recover.

Actress Liza Wang, his wife, is also a cancer survivor who was diagnosed with thyroid and early stage breast cancer three years before he was diagnosed with liver cancer.

Wang opted to omit her hectic work schedule in order to attend to her husband.

Last 2013, Law was diagnosed again with a 2 cm tumor on the left lobe of his liver, this finding lead to a speculation that Law was slowly deteriorating due to poor health.

However, Law released an official statement that the tumor was already removed and he was in full recovery.

"I don't need chemotherapy or surgery anymore," said Law, at an event in Nanjing in celebration of the third anniversary of an oral cavity hospital. Law's appearance didn't show any signs of any emaciation from surgery, he appeared very healthy.

"The important thing is that I'm happy. I also hope that I won't waste my years, and that I will eat more fine food, do more things for Cantonese opera, and film some more good movies, so that I can pass on what I've learned to the younger generation," he further added, conveying that his experience with cancer made him more open minded in his perspective towards life.

Law Kar Ying is initially known for his performances in the Cantonese opera before becoming popular as an actor. He met his wife when they both starred in one opera together. They officially sealed the deal in a Las Vegas ceremony last 2009.
