Viral Video Leads To Arrest Of Mainland Chinese Student Who Had Sex With Woman On HK Pavement

(Photo : Hongkong.coconuts.co) A 19-year-old mainland resident studying in Hong Kong was arrested after a video of him having sex with a woman on the pavement became viral on the internet.

The Hong Kong police has technology to thank for in arresting a 19-year-old mainland Chinese who had sex with a female student on the pavement of Fat Kwong Street bus stop, just outside the student quarters of the Polytechnic University in Ho Man Tin.

That's because when they got a call about the coupling pair at 4:10 am on Wednesday, by the time they arrived at the location, the two had their clothes on and were sitting on the pavement. However, when they stood up, the woman's pants fell down, indicating she earlier took it off and was not properly closed. She appeared drunk too, a police spokeswoman said, reports the South China Morning Post.

However, they could not arrest the two because they did not catch them having sex or have proof the two - who reportedly are mainland residents enrolled in different Hong Kong universities - had sex.

But in the afternoon, a video clip of the two having sex surfaced on the Internet. The first clip showed the woman naked from her waist and performing oral sex on the man. The second video showed the man, also naked from the waist down, on top of the woman and the two engaged in intercourse.

Using this evidence, the Kowloon City police called the man on Thursday morning and arrested him for public indecency. He was allowed to post bail and must report back to the station later this month.

It turns out it was the man's 19^th birthday on Thursday and he celebrated it by getting drunk on Wednesday. The two are regulars at a pub in Kowloon Tong, but it was just their second time to meet.

Authorities are looking for the woman who had reportedly returned to Beijing.

If the two are convicted, which is likely because of the availability of evidence, they could be jailed up to six months and fined HK$1,000.

It appears to confirm an observation that younger Chinese are more liberal in their attitude toward sex since it is the first time that Hong Kong police had encountered an incident like this in recent years, according to a veteran cop. In the past, couples do it under staircases, in alley or in countryside parks, not on a city pavement, which allowed passersby to film the pair.
