Could Blake Lively still “preserve” her wedding dress? There was no doubt in Blake Lively’s mind that Ryan Reynolds is her man. But two years after they got married, the “Gossip Girl” star revealed that she was heartbroken on her big day when her wedding dress got burned.

It is every woman’s dream to keep her wedding gown as much as they long to keep their marriage for eternity. But that did not happen for Lively when some sparklers burned her custom-made Marchesa wedding dress at the reception.
Speaking for the cover story of Vogue magazine's August issue, Lively recalled how it all went.
"Florence Welch was singing … and they brought out these sparklers, and I'm watching her sing," Lively began as she recounted the day of her wedding in 2012.
Little did she know that her Marchesa dress already had some kind of burn mark.
She continued, "I look down and my wedding dress has a big burn mark from one of the sparklers. Right on the front.”
It was a moment that no woman would want to see.
"It was just so heartbreaking to me," the “New York I Love You” star claimed during the interview.
Heartbreaking as it was, Lively looked back at the incident keeping her heads up. She found comfort in her husband’s reaction to the burned gown when he saw the dress hanging up.
"And later, my dress was hanging up and Ryan said, 'Isn't that beautiful?' I said, 'What?' And he pointed to the burn. My heart just stopped, because it was such a sensitive little subject," New York Daily News quoted Lively as saying.
Reynolds even comforted his new bride saying it was his favorite part of the dress.
Live noted, "And he said, 'You'll always remember that moment with Florence singing and the sparklers. You have that forever, right there, preserved. Now that's my favorite part of the dress.'"
The couple met on the set of “Green Lantern” when they co-starred in 2010. They were both seeing other people at that time. The “Captain America” hero was then still married to Scarlett Johansson while “The Town” actress was still dating Penn Badgely.
Almost a year after Reynolds filed for divorce from Johansson in December 2010, the actor started dating Lively in October 2011, who was then already involved with Leonardo DiCaprio for seven months. It did not take long before Lively and DiCaprio called it off and the actress got romantically involved with Reynolds.
Reynolds and Lively got married in a secret wedding at Boone Hall, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina on September 9, 2012 (video below). They have been together since then and reports have it that things are getting stronger for the married couple.
