The events that encompassed Paul George's return to the National Basketball Association (NBA) and the Indiana Pacers seemed like he was following a well-written script for his Cinderella return story.

George's leg was broken during a Team USA scrimmage in Las Vegas on August 1. The horrendous looking accident was the last time anybody has seen him on court.

Critics, pundits, and fans alike thought that George would not wear a Pacers uniform until the 2015-2016 season.

However, he proved them wrong by playing with the Pacers last Sunday in a winning game against the Miami Heat (112-89).

The game went better than anyone expected, with George scoring 13 points in just 14 and a half minutes on court. He made 3 out of 6 three-point shots that made the crowd erupt.

The win was an important as it helped keep afloat the Pacers' wish for a playoff sport.

The return of George and the win against the Heat were only the icing on top of the cake though. For George, he said later on that everything felt scripted.

It began before the game where his daughter Olivia was with him. Their time together assured George a good night's sleep.

The morning of the game, they went to mass where the priest had some time with him to calm his nerves.

Mike Krzyzewski from Duke and Team USA then met up with George before the game to wish him the best and shower him with good wishes. George said that it had meant everything.

The love for George kept on pouring through in the forms of Papa John's owner John Schnatter, his parents coming to see his game, and the thousands of fans who were just glad to have him back.

When George stepped into the game in the dying minutes of the first quarter, the fans let him know how much they missed him. Making his first three-point show sent them over the moon.

After all 15 minutes of his advised playing time was drained, he walked to the bench and was met with Head Coach Frank Vogel who hugged him and said, "Damn, I missed you."

Moving forward, George and the Pacers will be met with a number of challenges in their way to heading to the upcoming playoffs.
