Former O.C. star Mischa Barton is filing a lawsuit against her mother, Nuala Barton, according to an official statement by Mischa's legal representative, Alex Weingarten last April 7, via Us Magazine.

The 29 year old actress filed the lawsuit on Tuesday in the Los Angeles Supreme Court.

Mischa is suing her mother for breach of oral contract, fraudulent misrepresentation and other causes of action, according to E! News.

The lawsuit allegedly accuses Nuala, who also served as Mischa's manager, fabricating the amount of money her daughter was paid for in a 2013 film project and eventually pocketed the difference.

"This action arises from the tragic tale of a greedy stage mother posing as a talent manager who, instead of acting in the best interest of her daughter/client, schemed to defraud her unsuspecting victim," said Weingarten, in an interview with Us Magazine.

"From the outset, Nuala positioned herself to siphon her daughter's hard-earned money by purportedly acting as her talent manager - a role for which Nuala had absolutely no experience or training," she further added.

Mischa also claimed in her lawsuit that Nuala kicked her out of her Beverly Hills home, which cost approximately US$7 million. The money used to purchase the mansion was Mischa's hard earned money from her early career.

According to the court documents, Mischa's parents live at a multimillion dollar mansion that she is no longer welcome at. The actress is now seeking 'recovery from what her mother stole and to be able to proceed with her career free of the meddling Nuala continues to engage and in damages she continues to cause.'

The court document went on further to elucidate that 'from the outset, Nuala positioned herself to siphon her daughter's hard-earned money by purportedly acting as her talent manager and committed a series of egregious acts to intentionally exploit and harm her own daughter.'

The documents also claim that neither of Mischa's parents have their own job in more than a decade.
